Austin-s Julie Huls Named to Technology Councils of North America-s Executive Committee

AUSTIN, TX — (Marketwired) — 09/11/13 — The Austin Technology Council (ATC) announced today that its President, Julie Huls, has been named to the Technology Councils of North America (TECNA) executive committee. In her role, Huls will share best practices that ATC has developed to promote Austin as one of the premiere technology hubs in the country. Her presence on the committee will also give Austin an advocate at the national level when political and economic issues affecting the technology industry are debated.

Huls has served as the President and CEO of the ATC since 2009 where she manages the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the Council. She regularly collaborates with local, state and national leaders on economic and workforce policy development programs that affect the Central Texas region.

“We are thrilled to have Julie serving on the TECNA executive committee representing the ATC and the entire TECNA member network,” said Bob Moore, executive director, Technology Councils of North America. “Her leadership abilities and successes with the Austin technology community will serve as a blueprint as we further our strategic objectives that benefit the technology ecosystem.”

TECNA-s 13-member executive committee uses their influence to promote public policies and economic issues to advance the technology industry. The committee also plans national peer-to-peer networking events and collects feedback from its members to share with lawmakers.

“I-m honored to join TECNA-s executive committee and for the opportunity to learn from and work with the leaders from other regions throughout the country,” said Huls. “In addition to helping TECNA advance its agenda, having a seat at the table on the national stage will help Austin-s mission of becoming a national powerhouse in the technology industry.”

TECNA serves its members and the industry through its strong peer-to-peer network and its regional initiatives to raise the visibility and viability of the technology industry. TECNA represents approximately 50 IT and Technology trade organizations who, in turn, represent more than 16,000 technology-related companies in North America.

With more than 7,500 members and friends, 1,200 C-level executive members, and 200 member companies, the Austin Technology Council (ATC) has been focused on the growth and success of the Austin tech community since 1994. Members reap the benefits of premier professional development; insight and feedback from peers; the best in industry data to help grow businesses; and opportunities to give through charitable initiatives. Current ATC board members are leaders at companies or organizations like HomeAway (AWAY), Mutual Mobile, TVA Medical, Spinal Restoration, VISA, Apollo Endosurgery, MapMyFitness, Wells Fargo and Vinson & Elkins.
