Computerworld and CIO Executive Council Combine IT and Leadership Expertise at 2014 Premier 100 IT Leadership Conference

FRAMINGHAM, MA — (Marketwired) — 11/13/13 — IDG-s — the leading IT media brand dedicated to providing insight into enterprise innovation from core to edge technologies — is joining forces with the (Council) to produce the 15th annual . New this year, the conference will incorporate Transformation Studios and Reinvention Workshops, focusing on business innovation using IT as well as the business and leadership expertise needed to execute innovation in the enterprise. To encourage participation in the workshops, gamification will be included. Led by the Council — a member-led executive organization of global business leaders working to drive value from the intersection of business, information technology and strategy — participants will compete in sharing their key solutions for IT challenges.

More than 325 senior IT and business leaders will gather in Tucson, Arizona from March 2-4, 2014 to celebrate and learn from the 2014 Premier 100 honorees, Ones to Watch honorees and industry luminaries.

“The collaboration between Computerworld and the Council will bring a unique perspective and encourage IT and business leaders to explore innovative ways to integrate technology into their business model to drive competitive advantage,” said Adam Dennison, vice president and publisher, Computerworld. “This interactive experience will also provide a unique atmosphere for sponsors to foster relationships with clients organically.”

These breakout sessions feature Premier 100 Honorees and executive members of the CIO Council sharing the strategic and tactical details of how they executed a technology, organizational or management transformation to meet a specific key business imperative. Attendees then meet in small discussion groups to generate ideas on how to adapt these strategies for use at their own organizations. Ideas will be summarized in a reinvention roadmap reflecting the collective wisdom of the profession-s most respected leaders.

These “gamification” sessions feature a keynote speaker who concludes his/her presentation with specific reinvention challenges. Attendees are divided into teams which collaborate and compete to develop the most insightful ideas for reinventing the IT organization to better meet evolving business demands and opportunities. Participants use social media to share their ideas and session takeaways and to vote for winning ideas. The gamification experience ensures peer networking plus provides dozens of practical, relevant ideas for leaders to take back to their companies. The winning team will also benefit the next generation of IT professionals via a worthy STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) program that will receive a donation from the Council.

“The Council has a long history of elevating IT leaders within their organization as well as assisting IT professionals on their journey to becoming a CIO,” said Pam Stenson, senior vice president and general manager of the CIO Executive Council. “We are excited to partner with Computerworld and bring our IT and leadership expertise to the Premier 100 discussions.”
