MakerCon New York Kicks Off

NEW YORK, NY — (Marketwired) — 09/24/15 — , the only conference by and for Makers, today brings the most prominent individuals in the Maker Movement together for a one-day conference focusing on vast discussion topics relevant to the business of Making and the impact it–s having on the economy. MakerCon New York is a popular event during Maker Faire Week New York, which concludes this weekend with World Maker Faire on September 26 and 27.

The morning will begin with some inspiring words focusing on the impact of Making in the greater New York area. Minerva Tantoco, the first chief technology officer of New York City and Margaret Honey, president and CEO of the New York Hall of Science, are both leading the Maker Movement locally by promoting the growth of startups, technology, and innovation in education, business, and science.

Keynote conversations will be led by James Fallows, national correspondent for “The Atlantic”; Dr. Ellen Williams, director at Advanced Research Projects Agency of the Department of Energy; and Harbrinder S. Kang, Vice President, Corporate Affairs at Cisco Systems, Inc.
