Gobble Brings First 10-Minute Gourmet Dinner Kit Delivery Service to Los Angeles

PALO ALTO, CA — (Marketwired) — 01/11/16 — , the creator of gourmet 10-minute dinner kits delivered to your door, announced today that it is now serving the LA metro area. Gobble is the only meal delivery company that handles the cooking prep work for busy professionals so they can prepare and serve a fresh gourmet meal at home, using one pan, in under 10 minutes with an easy clean-up.

Unlike hot meal delivery services, Gobble allows families to cook with fresh ingredients, control how much spice goes into their meal and actually cook a meal without all the prep work. All ingredients are pre-portioned, pre-chopped, pre-mixed, and pre-cooked, so members just sizzle and serve. Faster than takeout, Gobble is also a healthier option.

Several trends are driving the growth of Gobble–s business:

More American families now have two working parents. A recent Pew report found that nearly half (46 percent) of all two-parent families have both parents working outside the home, up from 31 percent in 1970.

Families are more health conscious, looking to cut down on takeout and fast food in order to reduce sodium and fat intake, and meet dietary restrictions on factors such as sugar and gluten.

Delivery culture is well established, especially in major metro areas — consumers have come to rely on the convenience of delivery in order to spend their time on more important things.

Gobble–s founder Ooshma Garg said that the company decided to expand its service into the LA metro area after receiving thousands of inquiries from local residents. Hundreds have already signed up for the service, even though Gobble was not yet marketing the service in LA. “LA residents tend to be very health conscious,” said Garg. “Gobble is the best option for families that want to cook and eat healthy meals together, but don–t have hours to dedicate to cooking each week. We do all the prep work, and enable busy people to control the final ingredients and put on their own finishing touches.”

One LA resident already piloting Gobble is Bob Spletzer. “What got my attention immediately was the idea of just 10 minute gourmet dinners in one pan,” said Spletzer. “I had looked at other companies that offer a similar product, but Gobble was faster and easier. My wife and I both work full time, and by the time I get home at the end of the day, it–s hard to think of what I can throw together quickly that will be delicious and healthy. With Gobble, we are getting restaurant quality food at a price that–s much less expensive than eating out. My wife has been a vegetarian for the last two years, and it has been hard to create two dinners every day. With Gobble I now have new gourmet options every week on what to make for her in just 10 minutes. We–ve cut back on going out to eat, we have fun cooking together, and finding great vegetarian options that we can cook from home in one pan in 10 minutes is great. You just can–t beat that for dinner.”

Gobble menu choices are prepared by Executive Chef Thomas Ricci, a Michael Mina protégé and previously Chef de Cuisine at LB Steak in San Jose.

“We–re thrilled to have expanded into LA,” said Garg. “I started Gobble because I didn–t have time to cook, but I wanted to be able to eat fresh, healthy meals rather than takeout. The feedback we–ve had from the LA market indicates that there are many local families in the same position.”

LA-area residents who want to try Gobble can get a week of free meals by signing up for the service at . Pricing starts at $11.95 per meal, with no minimum number of orders. To see Gobble–s weekly menu choices, visit .

Founded by serial entrepreneur Ooshma Garg, does all the cooking prep work for busy professionals so they can be dinner heroes at home and serve up a fresh gourmet meal for their loved ones in under 10 minutes.

The Gobble model allows families to cook with fresh real ingredients, control how much butter, salt, spice, etc. goes into their meal, and eat a “hot off the stove” dinner garnished with fresh herbs. This can all be done with one pan, minimal clean up, and in less time than it takes to receive a takeout delivery. The service also alleviates much stress for working parents by removing the pressure to cook from scratch every night and affording families the ability and energy to spend more quality time together.
